Our Home Made Landfill...I know...gross

Recently, in Science, we studied recycling, and the effects of trash on our planet. So we did a little study, a greasy grimy study, on "where exactly does all that trash go?" and "what happens to it?!" (a recent Disney Movie did the same study...and the results were SCARY!)

The kids took plastic items, paper items and food items and made three layers between packed dirt, formed their hypothises about what they thought would happen to each of the items...and waited 2 weeks, watering in occasionally(rain). They were surprised to see the results...
